Madness At The PC Show
So this year I decided I needed some “excitement” in my life and chose to go to the PC show on the last night at the last hour. The office people made a trip on Thursday and I went with them to scout around and target the stuff I wanted, and then went back tonight.
So on Thursday (the first day), already Suntec and Marina’s carparks were full at noon, so I parked at Armenian Street opposite SMU and walked. Not that far actually, SMU, CHIJMES, Raffles City, Raffles Hotel, Suntec. Got in at 8pm, out by 850pm.
I picked up a camera for my mum (hers is so old and the screen is so small it’s hard for her to see), one for myself (to replace the one my sister stole), a laptop bag, laptop case (mine’s already leaking foam), and a couple of storage devices for myself, Chloe and Wan Lyn.
Were there savings of epic proportions between the first afternoon and the last night? Well… not really. At least not for the stuff I bought. I saved quite a bit on the laptop bag and case, and got more 4gig SD cards than I can shake a stick at from all the camera buying, but prices weren’t really lower. Just more freebies.
What I realised you can get hugeass discounts on are the big ticket items. Monitors, TV screens, laptops etc.
All in all it was a pretty “interesting”. I don’t really think the last night is as crowded as people make it out to be. I’ve been in worse.
Ah well, that’s it till next year! Or is there another one coming up? I need to buy a TV when I get back… hm.
