Singaporean Students: Learn Some Q&A Manners
I was at the Future Generation (aka student) track of ad:tech yesterday and I was really disappointed (almost disgusted) by the lack of professionalism in the crowd. About 140 students from the universities and polytechnics, and no one knows how to state their name and affiliation before asking a question?
I actually asked a question and stated my name and that I was from SMU, and as Dorothy pointed out, even after that no one got the message. Now the two of us were at a blogger/media/analyst briefing on Thursday, and every single person in the room knew how to identify themselves before asking a question.
So what the hell is wrong with the other students? Did no one teach them? Or are they being just plain rude?
it’s more the case that the institutions don’t or forget to impart conference niceties. mine definitely didn’t (or maybe i thought having hotdogs at ikea was more important than attending those sessions) and i learnt it on the fly at my first press conference.
