Freaking Out Over The Kingston Bug
If you’re on my MSN, Plurk or Facebook accounts, you might have noticing me freaking out over something called the Kingston Bug a couple of days ago.
So for the curious, here is a link to the Kingston Bug. Fair warning: the image is pretty gross. So don’t click that if you’re squeamish about bugs. (Heck, I’m not that squeamish about bugs and I don’t even like looking at it.)
So what is the Kingston Bug? After some research I found out it’s actually a house centipede. That’s right. Plenty of legs, feelers, looks almost hairy, white colour so it looks ghostly, and scuttles at the speed of…. something with many legs.
Here’s the kicker! It is capable of biting humans, those the poison/venom isn’t lethal by any means. That said, getting bitten by that nasty piece of work is something I don’t terribly need to experience in this lifetime.
I related this to my housemates to warn them of potentially being bitten. One of them said “Any bug that can bite me will get it back in return.”
That’s when we looked up and said “What? Bite it back??”
lol.your housemate is damn funny.
and you’re STILL talking about kingston bug….*faints
lol hey it’s a good conversation topic!!
[...] that I’m here I still kinda shake my shoe before putting it on, cause you never know when a Kingston bug might decide to take a nap in [...]
