Arsenal: Top Of The League

Arsenal

Arsenal

I don’t know how long it’s been since I’ve seen Arsenal at the top of the table or how long they’ll remain there or if they’ll be there when it matters (on the final day of the season) but for now, I’m happy to savour it.

It’s even sweeter when by 28 minutes the Gunners were 2-0 down and managed to battle back to 4-2 and go ahead of Chelsea on goal difference. One year ago the young Arsenal side would have just crumbled after going 2-0 down within half an hour, but now there’s that mental strength to fight back.

I watched the highlights and it isn’t just the comeback but how Arsenal orchestrated the comeback that’s amazing. No “real” striker but yet 4 goals from 4 different players – pretty damn amazing.

Perhaps now the millions of Arsenal fans can quietly hope…. the next month will be crazy playing Villa-Man U-Chelsea-Liverpool, but if they can get through that period and lose minimum points, I think the rest of the season will be considerably easier.

Fingers crossed.
