I did pretty well in 2009 with 28 books and 93 graphic novels.

Best book of the year was hands down Rant by Chuck Palahniuk, other worthy mentions include Death Star, the Horus Heresy, the Star Wars Legacy series and The Dip by Seth Godin.

On the graphic novel front, Avengers: The Initiative is a great book, I read the whole of BPRD in one sitting and that was amazing, Ex Machina is going to be a classic when it’s over, Fallen Angel is even better now that it’s out of DC, the Green Lantern franchise as a whole is doing very well, I enjoyed catching up on X-Factor and the Walking Dead is probably the revelation of the year, which is surprising because I consider his superhero comics among the worst I’ve ever read.

In 2010 I hope to hit 24 books (that’s a modest 2 books a month) and maybe cross the 100 mark for graphic novels – entirely possible!

By the end of the year I also hope to have whittled my “unread book” count by at least 20%, it currently stands at 66 unread books on my shelf.
