This is pretty much what happens when you watch half a season of Alias over two days.

On a side note (oh the pun): check out how the notes look with hats (definitely worth a click!)

I unearthed this “gem” from way back in March 2007. Strictly not music per se and if you weren’t from SMU or entered the school after June ‘07 you might not get all the jokes.

However, if you remember the days in SMU where dancers used our glass panels as mirrors and we could cross the road from SOA to the library at will, this will bring back memories. not forgetting what to do with cold nipples.

Anyway it was fun and I thought I’d share it almost three years later:

The girlfriend, Miss iammyy, has insisted that she deserves a blog post, so I thought I’d share what happens when we go shopping at Ikea.

To add context, I was looking specifically for this cushion+surface thing for your laptop which helps provide a flat surface to use a laptop on, while providing a cushion for your legs. It looks a little something like this:

So she knew how it looks like because she’s seen it before, and excitedly declared that she found it and pointed in triumph to…. this:

Isn’t she awesome? =)

I finished reading Starbucked (a book that chronicles the rise of Starbucks over the years) over the weekend (at a Borders cafe, no less) and while I could go on about whether or not Starbucks represents cultural imperialism (I don’t think so), I instead want to share a great quote from the book:

“.. it employs polo shirt-wearing teenage baristas who field your requests courteously and with a smi – actually, the French are still working on the whole customer service thing.”

Yesterday I had a little post on plurk to identify this mystery food. My guess would have been lou hei (you know, that stuff you have during Chinese New Year).

Popiah. After my girlfriend decided to let it drop and crumble in an attempt to avoid eating it. Tsk tsk. Such a food waster.

Jabroni Drive

A couple of weeks ago, Reuben was looking through my iPhone and checking out the contacts.

After awhile he asked “Who’s jabroni?” (Sidenote, one definition of jabroni is “a piece of monkey crap”. Other, more vulgar, definitions can be found here). My answer: “My sister.”

“Haha! All sisters should be called jabroni”

I was at lunch with Johnny and Sherms the other week, and they were commenting on how much both Ingrid and I are such social media and “connected” people, and asked how many different channels of communication we have with each other.

So here’s as comprehensive a list as I can think of (in no order whatsoever):

1. SMS
2. Phone calls
3. Twitter
4. Plurk
5. Msn
6. Email
7. Notes/Letters
8. Video/voice calls
9. Blog posts
10. Facebook

and probably one or two more that I can’t think of right now.

As far as I’m concerned, different channels are needed for different reasons, so the more channels to choose from the merrier!
