I have no idea who Michael Paynter is, but this new song of his featuring The Veronicas is got a nice “gritty” feeling to it that draws you in. Have a listen:

I had no idea who The Saturdays were until I heard this song and did some research, turns out they’re a girl pop group from the UK. All I can say is only the girl with the short hair catches my attention and the cheesy water-splashing-dancing bit is terrible, but the song itself is pretty good. Check it out:

Even though I featured this song on Music Monday 80, the music video was just released and I think the video adds so much power to the song that it’s worth featuring again.

A few things:

• Eminem looks great.

• So does Dominic Monaghan (great move to shave his head)

• Rihanna still looks trashy.

• Megan Fox takes great care not to show her toe-thumb (but we all know it’s there)

Heard this on the radio while driving the other day and I really do like the emotion Eminem puts into his lyrics. Rihanna actually sounds good for the first time since Shut Up and Drive but unfortunately she looks downright trashy in the live version of this song. Seriously what is up with those thighs?? They’re visible from miles away.

I know I’m a sucker for these shows but I really did love Music and Lyrics and so, here’s what to do if you’re hopeless doofus like Hugh Grant. Being good looking doesn’t hurt either, I suppose.

I am a pretty big Michelle Branch fan and actually own both Hotel Paper and Spirit Room and have listened to her Wreckers stuff on and off.

However, I’m pretty underwhelmed by “Getaway”, doubly underwhelmed when you consider Timbaland is working with her on it. It could be just me, but I think songs with “na na na” lyrics are examples of lazy songwriting.

Pretty disappointing music video too, but in any case, if you’ve been wondering where Michelle Branch has been, here she is.

I know it was just Father’s Day but because we all love our moms, here’s “The Mom Song“.

If there’s one thing this song proves, it’s that moms are all the same around the world.

So apparently Orianthi is a 25 year old Aussie girl who was handpicked by Michael Jackson to be his lead guitarist for his comeback. She’s also got this catchy song called “According To You“:

So just three things:

1) This girl knows how to play the guitar

2) Given her musical “cred”, this is a terribly mass market pop song

3) I’d put down money that the “according to you” boy knows “her” better and the only reason the “according to him” boy may feel that way is because “she” hasn’t hung out around with him enough to reveal that side of her yet. So it’s a matter of time.
